The M/V LeConte is a feeder vessel for the Alaska Marine Highway System.

The LeConte was built in Sturgeon Bay, WI in 1973 and commissioned in 1974 by the Alaska Marine Highway System.

The LeConte is the older sister ship to the M/V Aurora and both serve as feeder vessels that pick up passengers in small communities such as Hoonah and take them to larger regional communities. The LeConte primarily serves in the northern portion of the Southeast Panhandle of Alaska.

Amenities include hot-food cafeteria, forward observation lounges, and solarium. The LeConte is one of the vessels that does not have any cabins on board.

The LeConte and the Aurora are the only vessels able to serve the communities of Angoon, Pelican and Tenakee Springs. It's small size makes it an vital asset for the ferry system and the residents of these rural communities and villages.
